All students need to apply to ride the school bus
Online Transportation Application
Complete the online form if the student is enrolled in French Immersion or a regular program and the address is eligible for transportation to that school. Use our Eligibility Tool to determine if your address is eligible for transportation under policy.
Elective Learning Program Transportation Form
You must download and save the form before filling it out. Complete this form if the student is enrolled in an elective learning program (IB, LEAP, Challenge, etc) housed outside their transportation boundary. Transportation is never guaranteed for these programs and parents are responsible for transportation to and from the school that houses the elective learning program. Applications for transportation may be submitted to Tri-Board and transportation may be provided only if:
- There is an existing bus route;
- There is space on the bus;
- There is no additional cost to Tri-Board
If approved, Tri-Board will assign the student to the bus stop on the route that is closest to the student’s residence. Tri-Board will not re-route buses or move stops for students in elective learning programs. Late arrival/early dismissal as well as extended ride time may be necessary. It is the responsibility of the coordinator of the elective learning program to advise parents and students at the time of registration that the student is not eligible for transportation unless special approval is granted by Tri-Board.
Special Education Request for Transportation Form
You must download and save the form before filling it out. This form should be completed by school administration. Complete this form if the student has special needs recognized by the school board. Submit this form to the school board’s Educational/Student Services department and they will coordinate with Tri-Board to determine how the student’s needs can be safely accommodated.
Online Courtesy Transportation Form
Use the online courtesy form for students with an ineligible address who are not enrolled in elective learning programs. Transportation may be provided if:
- There is an existing bus route;
- There is space on the bus;
- There is no additional cost to Tri-Board
Tri-Board will attempt to accommodate courtesy requests on a bus with space available. Courtesy riders will need to travel to the closest bus stop on the available route and may have a longer than normal ride time. It may take several weeks to accommodate the request. Courtesy riders will be removed from transportation with 48-hour notice if space is needed for eligible students or the bus route is repurposed or eliminated.
Extenuating Circumstances/ Temporary Transportation Form
You must download and save the form before filling it out. Complete this form for ineligible students facing extenuating circumstances affecting their need for temporary transportation. Extenuating circumstances must be related to the student directly. This form must be submitted to the school for processing.
Tri-Board obtains student information from the School Board for the purpose of providing transportation services.
