Bus Stop Reviews On Hold Until October
Published August 22, 2022
Due to the high volume of transportation applications needing to be processed at this time of year, all requests to change bus stop locations/times are on hold until October.
Before making a stop review request, please note:
-
Specific criteria such as sightlines, road conditions, traffic volume, sidewalk/shoulder space, and other safety factors are carefully considered when creating all stops. Stop reviews can take several days to complete.
-
New stops are only established when an in-boundary student would otherwise be required to travel more than the MAXIMUM DISTANCE TO THE BUS STOP as determined by Tri-Board’s route planning software. Requests to move stops that are within policy are unlikely to be approved.
-
Parents/Guardians are responsible for the safe travel to and from the bus stop. The inability of the parent/guardian to supervise students travelling to, from, or while at the stop is not a justification to change the stop location or time.
-
Tri-Board provides services for ~30,000 students and cannot make route or stop changes to align with parent/guardian’s work schedules or other convenience-based requests.
-
It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to find alternate travel means if they do not wish to use the established stop while waiting for the review to be completed.
-
Submitting a bus stop review request does not necessarily mean the stop will be adjusted.
